Responsibilities would include but not limited to the following:
Plans, schedules and coordinates regular, area (short), & major (long term) shutdown work for the mill to ensure the proper allocation of the maintenance workforce, materials, time, tools, equipment and methods while meeting safety, environmental and cost objectives in compliance with Corporate Principles and Guidelines and applicable legislation.
The Mechanical Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning work requests in their designated maintenance area. This includes estimating the time to do the work, prioritizing and scheduling each aspect of the job, ensuring all required parts and resources are available to complete the work, and the job is completed within the available time parameters.
The role of the Maintenance Planner is to function as the keystone of planned, efficient maintenance. The planner is constantly multi-tasking within their many roles to ensure that all facets of the maintenance in their respective area remain efficient. The planner must cover a broad range of planning duties, while paying close attention to small details. Frequent communication is required within many levels of the AV Terrace Bay organization, including the production groups, tradesmen, purchasing and stores departments, engineers, E&I department, technical department, operations department, human resources, maintenance supervisors & other planners, outside part suppliers, and contractors. The Mechanical Maintenance Planner must have excellent time-management skills, as they handle a large volume of work requests, on a daily basis.
Pulp and Paper experience along with past experience as millwright shall be considered a strong asset.
